Pashmina, also popularly known as cashmere. \"Pashm\" is an old persian word for fine wool.\"Pashmina\" is derived from pashm. They are found in the mountainous regions of nepal and central Asia in the Himalayas. It is known as King of all wool for it\'s extraordinary quality of softness , warmness and lightness. The cashmere comes fronm the underbelly of Chyangra (Goats), which grazes high in the himalayas.

Cashmere is one of the softest fine wool and has been produced for the time immemorial in the Himalayan region. The word Pashmina (Cashmere) is derived from ?Pashm? which means fine inner wool of Himalayan goat-capra hircus goat(changra) that resides above 10000ft. from the sea level. These goats are domesticated in the highland of Nepal, each spring village women harvest the Pashmina by laboriously combing out the shedding hair of live goats. After collection the fiber goes many specialized tasks, such as sinning, warping, dyeing, fringe making and ironing entirely by hand traditionally.
